No real surprises in the Welsh rugby team to face Australia at the Millennium Stadium this coming Saturday.

Former captain Gareth Thomas returns after suffering a mini-stroke in the immediate aftermath of the Mike Ruddock debacle. Good also to see the return of Tom Shanklin at centre and Ryan Jones at No.8 following long-term injuries (http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0500rugbyunion/).

Shanklin was arguably the stand out player during the Welsh Grand Slam of two seasons ago, while Jones emerged as the best new player in the ill-fated British Lions tour of New Zealand.

It is difficult to predict the outcome of Saturday’s match, mainly because Wales and Australia are these days two of the most unpredictable international sides. Capable of upsetting anyone on their day, if they don’t click they can really struggle.

Hopefully it would be a good match and if Wales play well and produce some exciting running rugby then the result is a side issue…who am I kidding?

A 3-0 win to Wales with a last minute scuffed drop goal will do.
