My second, more considered opinion about Bonekickers is pretty much the same as my first - this is the worst programme currently on TV - albeit with a few tweaks.
Everything that was bad about the debut episode was evident again - over-acting, slack direction, but above all some absolutely appalling writing and a laughably contrived [...]

There is plenty of competition but putting aside the reality TV drivel, the endless property and cookery shows and Jeremy Kyle-style car crash entertainment, is Bonekickers the worst programme currently being aired?
Over-hyped, over-acted and under-written makes for a very poor combination.
Time Team meets Indian Jones, CSI and The Da Vinci Code makes for an even worse [...]

The headline probably gives an insight into my Saturday night TV viewing.
Sandwiched between watching the BBC’s hit and miss coverage of Glastonbury, the penultimate episode of Dr Who managed to do something that no other programme in this series has managed to date - it left me wanting more.
I’m still not entirely impressed that the [...]

Having mulled over the BBC’s plans to increase its local video output online and the less than enthusiastic response of The Newspaper Society for a few days I’m still left with the same question.
Isn’t one of the big plus points of the “digital revolution” the fact that we now have more choice?
So the Society’s attitude would [...]

I realise it is ridiculous given the lack of actual quality in this year’s series of The Apprentice, but it is Wednesday and I’m feeling a little bereft.
No television programme, especially not a reality one, should make me feel like this.
It should be Apprentice night, but it isn’t. What is on instead?
Holby City - pretend [...]

Well, now we can all sleep easy in our beds for another year.
The waiting is over, the sense of anti-climax is immense and The Apprentice for 2008 is Mr Shouty.
Aka the diamond in the rough, the dinosaur impersonator, the man who “totally f****** nailed the blue cactus” in Morocco, the one none of us really knew what the [...]

After the non-story about presenters’ salaries, it is quite refreshing to see the much-vaunted BBC Trust actually sticking the boot in a bit.
The Beeb has been told to improve its coverage of the UK’s nations and regions in its main news bulletins and factual programmes, with the Trust accusing it of “falling short of its [...]

The job interview from hell, for the viewers rather than the candidates, is almost over for this year at least.
Old Man Sugar won’t have resorted to some old-style fortune telling to decide who will be The Apprentice.
He would have known from very early on in the selection process who was likely to make it this far, [...]

It all feels a bit too conservative for my liking.
Some might regard SirA’s decision to allow four of the remaining candidates on The Apprentice to go through to the final as a bold and imaginative move, but I can’t help thinking he’s playing it safe.
What it suggests to me is that there is no stand-out [...]

We’ve arguably reached crunch time in The Apprentice.
Forget the final show when the £100,000-a-year wannabe hears the two words they’ve dreamt about: “You’re hired”.
Tonight’s show will go a long way to deciding who will win the glittering prize.
The interview stage has always proved quite decisive in exposing the fundamental flaws of the remaining candidates and [...]
